The Future of Healthcare: Data driven decision making

We have used a strategic foresight approach to conduct an extensive exploration of the healthcare sector to understand how it is changing and have also identified five key forces that are driving this change.

First up in our series of five force focuses is Data Driven Decision Making. In this we consider how more health data is being captured, analysed and utilised than ever before to create an unprecedented level of awareness and understanding of people’s health and wellbeing reality. This opens a myriad of opportunities to develop better health management, diagnosis and treatment solutions - but at the same time creates new practical, ethical and philosophical issues around how we use and handle all that new data.

It’s the age of health enlightenment - but are we ready for it ?
